Picture of Mad Eye Moody's Servo Eye

In this guide well look at how to make a moving replica of Mad Eye Moody's eye from Harry Potter.

What you'll need:

  • Access to a 3D printer
  • Blue and Black paint
  • Arduino pro-Micro or similar size arduino
  • Servo motor
  • A skinny belt
  • Glue
  • Tape

Step 1: 3D Print and Paint

You'll first need to 3D print the parts that make up the eye itself.

You can find the original upload her: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1761058

or in the .zip file below.

There are 2 separate pieces for the base that need to be glued together in a specific orientation to line up the crack.

You then need to paint the pupil and give the base a finish.

Any more advice you can give for installing the servo? How do I conect the servo to the larger cylinder? This is the servo I have. It’s my first time doing anything like this so any and all information would help.

Sorry for the late answer.

I had some trouble with that as well, I broke off the connectors that stick out from the servo itself then I filed down the inside of the eye until I was able to push it in.
