Picture of Connect Your ESP8266 to Any Available Wi-Fi Network

The ESP8266 is a microcontroller developed by Espressif Systems. Known as a WiFi Module, this microcontroller has the ability to perform WiFi related activities like Internet of things applications and home automation. Ranging in price and features, there are many types of ESP8266 modules available, but all of them are incredibly useful for IoT world.

Regardless of the IoT application you've developed, when using the ESP8266, you must set the WiFi credentials into the ESP8266's firmware to establish the required connections and be able to send data to the cloud. This is one way to connect, but you can also build your own access point into the board making an universal firmware which will establish a connection in any network available just by pressing a button.

hi, so i'm trying to follow your this https://goo.gl/cQywcv tutorial, and unfortunately ConfigManager Library link is not correct (on your every blog and website means you deleted from your github) and so i downloaded it from somewhere else and now i am facing this errors.

Won't this require connecting your phone to the NODEMCU rather that the same network if the NODEMCU was connected to the network and not an Access point?

I follow all instructions to set up my ESP12E, but when I try to verify it, I got the following message:

Board nodemcuv2 (platform esp8266, package esp8266) is unknown

Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).

Could you please help me to fix it? Thank you.

Though widely accepted, sending plaintext credentials over unsecured WiFi is a terrible security idea.

Nice, good info, and even easier way to connect to networks!
