Picture of Butterbeer Frappuccino Recipe
Butterbeer frappe-8.jpg

Last year, I went to Universal Studios Orlando and got to spend time at the Harry Potter parks. It was AMAZING! I loved it all, but one thing I loved in particular was the frozen Butterbeer (regular Butterbeer wasn't as good). So when I became addicted to Frappuccinos, I had to try out the Starbucks Secret Menu recipe for Butterbeer Frappuccino. It was good, so I wanted to make it at home, but Torani didn't have the Toffee Nut syrup that was used to make it at Starbucks.

Since the drink is essentially a butterscotch concoction, I went with the Torani Butterscotch and Vanilla syrups to make mine. This isn't a Starbucks copycat recipe, but maybe it will be a flavor they have in the future :)

Now check out my Harry Potter-Themed Butterbeer Frappuccino!

Step 1: Supplies

Picture of Supplies

This recipe is a single serving and makes about the 16oz Grande size from Starbucks.

Caffeinated Version:

Replace about 1/4c of the milk with strong coffee; it will change the overall taste a bit and make the drink darker.

Alternative Version:

Do 2 tbsp each of Butterscotch Syrup, Caramel Syrup, and Vanilla Syrup. This combo is, I assume, the closest I could come to the Secret Menu recipe with the flavors I had. Both recipes taste good. Do what you like best.

  • Blender - I use a Magic Bullet at home, it's great for making individual drinks
  • Ice cube trays - small ice cubes make for even easier blending
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cups for serving
  • Reusable Straws

Not that I really want more competition, but why not add this to the Caffine Contest. It looks good.

:) I actually can't win because I work for Instructables (so no worries there). I would enter it (just for fun) but I didn't make it with coffee, even tho you can make it with coffee. So it felt like it would be dishonest if I entered it :)

I love this! I've been working on a Butterbeer Recipe this week too! Why aren't we neighbors? :)

Ooh, yay! I keep meaning to try my hand at making a butterbeer, but I just keep dragging my feet :P I do have butter extract I could use tho :) And we should be neighbors, especilly if you like frappes as I have so many Torani flavors I can try a new one every day :)
